eBay & Marketplace Collection and Delivery

eBay, Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree Collection & Delivery

You have found the perfect sofa on Facebook Marketplace, a washing machine at half the retail price on eBay, or a dining table on Gumtree — and then you reach the four words that ruin every bargain: collection only, buyer collects. Quickow bridges that gap. We collect items from private sellers across Liverpool, Manchester and the whole UK and deliver them to your door, usually within 24 to 48 hours, so a great find is never wasted for want of a van.

Quickow marketplace collection and delivery van

This works both ways. If you are the one selling, offering a delivery option makes your listing far more attractive and widens your buyer pool well beyond people who happen to own a van. Plenty of our regular customers are marketplace sellers who simply add our collection service to every listing.

What We Collect and Deliver

🛋️ Sofas, Beds & Furniture

Corner sofas, armchairs, beds, mattresses, wardrobes, dining sets and garden furniture — the items marketplaces are full of and parcel couriers will not touch.

🧊 White Goods & Appliances

Fridge freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers, cookers and dishwashers, carried upright with the appliance trolleys and straps needed to protect them.

📺 Televisions & Electronics

Large screen TVs, sound systems, computers and gaming setups, transported upright and blanket-wrapped rather than laid flat in a car boot.

🏋️ Gym & Outdoor Equipment

Treadmills, multi-gyms, exercise bikes, trampolines, hot tubs and sheds — heavy, awkward items that usually need two people and proper lifting kit.

🏍️ Motorbikes, Scooters & Parts

Bikes, mopeds, quads, engines and vehicle parts bought at auction or from private sellers, handled through our motorbike delivery service.

🎹 Antiques & Awkward Items

Pianos, display cabinets, mirrors, artwork and vintage furniture, moved with blankets, corner protection and the care these items actually need.

How Marketplace Collection Works

1. Send Us the Listing

Send us the eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree link, or just a photo and the two postcodes. From that we can quote a fixed price straight away — the listing tells us the size, weight and whether it needs one person or two.

2. We Arrange Collection With the Seller

Give us the seller’s contact details and we will arrange a collection time directly with them. You do not need to be present, take a day off work, or coordinate between two strangers’ schedules. We confirm the slot with both of you before we set off.

3. Checked and Photographed at Collection

Our driver photographs the item at the seller’s address before loading. If it clearly does not match the listing — wrong model, damage that was not disclosed, a sofa that will obviously never fit through your door — we will call you before loading rather than after. That single phone call has saved plenty of customers from a bad purchase.

4. Delivered Into Your Home

We deliver into the room you want, not just to the kerb, including upstairs and into flats without lifts. Two-person crews are available for anything heavy, and we can dismantle and reassemble beds and flat-pack furniture where access requires it.

Buying Collection-Only Items: What to Check First

A few minutes of checking before you commit saves far more than it costs. Measure your doorways, hallway width, staircase turns and the space the item is going into — sofas and American fridge freezers are the two things most often bought without measuring, and the two most often sent back.

Ask the seller which floor the item is on and whether there is parking. A wardrobe on the third floor of a building with no lift is a genuinely different job from one in a ground-floor hallway, and telling us upfront means your quote is accurate rather than revised on the day.

For appliances, ask whether the item has been tested and whether it comes with hoses, shelves or transit bolts. For sofas, check whether the legs unscrew. These small details often determine whether an item fits through a door at all, and sellers are usually happy to answer if you ask before you pay.

Why Use a Courier Rather Than Hire a Van

Self-drive van hire looks cheaper until you add up the day rate, fuel, insurance excess, congestion and clean air charges, and the value of the day you spend doing it. Then there is the practical problem: most collection-only items need two people to lift, and finding a friend free on a Tuesday afternoon is harder than it sounds.

Using a courier also means the item is covered by goods in transit insurance rather than riding loose in a hired van with no straps. Our crews arrive with blankets, trolleys, straps and tools as standard, and know how to get a three-seater around a tight staircase turn without taking the bannister with it. If you would rather have a van and crew for a few hours to do several pickups, our man and van service covers that instead.

Coverage and Timescales

We run marketplace collections daily across Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington, St Helens, Wigan, Chester, Bolton, Preston, Widnes, Runcorn and the surrounding areas, with most local jobs completed within 24 to 48 hours. Longer distance collections — an item bought in Birmingham, London, Leeds or Scotland — are handled as dedicated runs, and same-day collection is available through our 24/7 same day courier service when a seller needs an item gone immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions About Marketplace Collection

Do I need to be there when you collect?

No. Give us the seller’s contact details and we arrange the collection slot directly with them. You only need to be at the delivery address, and we will give you a time window in advance.

How much does eBay or Marketplace collection cost?

It depends on distance, item size and whether two people are needed. Send us the listing link or a photo plus both postcodes and we will give you a fixed price with no hidden charges — or use our online booking form.

What if the item is not as described?

Our driver photographs the item before loading. If it clearly does not match the listing or is damaged, we will call you before we load so you can decide whether to go ahead — rather than delivering a problem to your door.

Will you carry it upstairs or into a flat?

Yes. We deliver into the room you want, including upper floors and flats without lift access. Tell us the floor level when booking so we send a two-person crew where it is needed.

I am selling — can I offer delivery to my buyers?

Absolutely, and it usually helps items sell faster and to a wider audience. Many of our regular customers are marketplace sellers who add our collection service as a delivery option on every listing.
