Security Services & Security Guards

Security Guards and Security Services Across Liverpool, Manchester & the UK

Empty buildings, open compounds, unmanned car parks and busy events all share one problem — nobody is watching. Quickow supplies security personnel to sites across Liverpool, Manchester and the wider North West, from a single overnight guard on a construction compound to a full team covering a multi-storey car park.

Tell us where the site is, what hours need covering and what you are protecting. We put the right people on it — as a one-off booking, a short-term contract over a build or a refurbishment, or an ongoing rota. The same 24/7 line that handles our same day courier work takes security enquiries, so there is always someone to speak to.

Every officer we supply for a licensable security role holds a valid front line SIA licence. UK law requires it, and we verify each licence on the Security Industry Authority public register before an officer is deployed to your site.

✔ Static Site Guards

An officer posted to your site for the shift — gates, entrances, compounds and reception points.

✔ Mobile Security Patrols

Scheduled or randomised patrols across one site or several, with a timed record of every visit.

✔ Fire Wardens & Fire Marshals

Fire warden cover for events, hot works, building projects and premises needing a waking watch.

✔ Nights, Weekends & Bank Holidays

Cover for exactly the hours you are exposed, including the out-of-hours gaps most incidents fall into.

Security Services We Provide

Most sites need a combination rather than a single service — a guard on the gate during working hours, patrols overnight, and a key holder for the alarm at weekends. We build the cover around the site rather than selling a fixed package.

Static Site Security Guards

A security officer stationed at your premises for the length of the shift. Static guards control who comes in and out, check vehicles and deliveries, walk the perimeter, keep an incident log and are visibly present — which is what deters most opportunist theft and trespass in the first place.

Mobile Security Patrols

Where continuous cover is more than a site needs, patrols are the cost-effective alternative. Officers attend at set or deliberately irregular times, check the perimeter, doors, locks, lighting and plant, and log each visit. One patrol round can cover several of your sites in a night.

Fire Warden & Fire Marshal Cover

Fire wardens for events, festivals, construction projects, hot works and premises operating a waking watch. Duties cover monitoring escape routes and fire points, raising the alarm, assisting evacuation and sweeping the building, working to your own fire risk assessment and evacuation plan.

Construction Site Security

Building sites carry high-value plant, tools, copper, cable and materials on open ground, and they are exposed the moment the last trade leaves. We cover compounds and gatehouses, sign contractors and deliveries in and out, and hold the site overnight, at weekends and through shutdown periods.

Car Park & Parking Security

Multi-storey car parks, surface car parks, retail and hospital parking and private residential parking. Officers deter vehicle crime and antisocial behaviour, help drivers and pedestrians, monitor barriers and payment machines, and report misuse of bays to the site operator.

Vacant & Void Property Security

An empty building attracts squatters, metal theft, fly-tipping and arson, and insurers usually expect the risk to be managed. We cover void commercial units, empty residential blocks, closed sites awaiting sale and properties between tenancies, with guards, patrols or a combination.

Event Security & Crowd Stewarding

Stewards and security staff for corporate events, private functions, exhibitions, markets and community events. Cover includes entry and bag checks, ticket and wristband control, car park marshalling, crowd flow management and overnight security on equipment and marquees between days.

Retail & Commercial Premises Security

Uniformed officers for shops, showrooms, warehouses and trade counters, covering shoplifting deterrence, stock protection, safe opening and closing, and support during sales, refits and stock moves. Useful alongside a shop or retail store move when stock is exposed.

Key Holding & Alarm Response

Rather than a member of your staff driving out at three in the morning to a false alarm, we hold the keys and attend. Officers check the premises, deal with the alarm panel, wait for police or engineers where needed and secure the building before leaving.

CCTV Monitoring

Camera systems only work if somebody is watching them and acting on what they see. We provide monitoring cover for existing CCTV installations, with agreed escalation — who gets called, in what order, and what happens next when something is spotted on a feed.

Concierge & Front of House

A blended reception and security role for office buildings, residential blocks and student accommodation. Front of house staff greet visitors, manage sign-in and access, take deliveries and parcels, monitor the entrance and keep an eye on communal areas throughout the day.

Sites and Sectors We Cover

If somewhere needs a person on it, we can usually help. Common requests include:

  • Car parks — multi-storey, surface, retail, hospital and residential
  • Vacant and void commercial and residential property
  • Warehouses, distribution centres and industrial units

How Booking Security Cover Works

1. Tell Us About the Site

Give us the postcode, what the premises are, what you are protecting and any history of incidents. Photographs or a site plan help. If it is urgent, phone rather than email — we will tell you honestly what we can put in place and when.

2. We Agree the Cover

We set out how many officers, which hours, and whether static cover, patrols or a mix suits the risk and the budget. You get a written quote with the rate, the shift pattern and what is included before anything is booked. Nothing is charged until you confirm.

3. Officers Deployed

Before the first shift we agree site-specific instructions — access, keys, alarm codes, who to call, what to do about trespassers, where the fire points are. Officers arrive briefed rather than working it out on the night, and every licence is checked on the SIA public register before the officer sets foot on site.

4. Reporting and Review

You receive shift and patrol reports covering attendance times, checks completed and anything that happened. On longer contracts we review the cover with you periodically — sites change, and there is no sense paying for hours that no longer match the risk.

Why Businesses Choose Quickow for Security

Quickow has run vehicles and crews across the North West for years, on same day courier work, house moves and office relocations. Security is an extension of the same operation: people, logistics and a 24/7 phone line that someone actually answers.

That matters more than it sounds. A lot of security enquiries are urgent — a break-in overnight, a site left open, a tenant gone from a property, an event tomorrow that has lost its stewards. Because we already run an around-the-clock operation, there is a real person to talk to at any hour rather than an answering service.

We are also straightforward about scope. If a job needs a specialism we do not cover, we will say so rather than send the wrong person. And because we handle removals, clearances and relocations too, a single call can cover the guard on the gate, the clearance of the building and the move of the equipment inside it.

Areas We Cover

We are based in Liverpool and Manchester and cover the North West as standard, including Warrington, St Helens, Wigan, Chester, Bolton, Preston, Widnes, Runcorn, Southport and the surrounding towns. Longer contracts and multi-site work are taken on across the UK — tell us where the sites are and we will confirm what we can cover.

Security Services Frequently Asked Questions

Do security guards in the UK need to be SIA licensed?

Yes. Under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, anyone carrying out licensable security work in the UK — including security guarding, door supervision, key holding and public space CCTV — must hold a valid Security Industry Authority licence. Every officer we supply for a licensable role holds a valid front line SIA licence, and we check each licence on the SIA public register before that officer is deployed to your site.

What is the difference between a static guard and a mobile patrol?

A static guard stays on your site for the whole shift and is continuously present. A mobile patrol attends at set or random times, checks the site and moves on. Static cover gives the strongest deterrent; patrols cost far less and suit lower-risk sites or several premises covered on one round.

How much does security cover cost?

It depends on the hours, the number of officers, the shift pattern, how much notice you can give and the risk at the site. Nights, weekends and bank holidays carry a premium, and short-notice cover costs more than a planned rota. Every job is quoted upfront — request a quote or call and we will price it.

Can I book security for one night or one event?

Yes. We take one-off bookings as well as short-term contracts and ongoing rotas. A single overnight guard on a compound, a weekend of event stewards or a fire warden for a day of hot works are all normal requests — there is no minimum contract length.

How quickly can you put security in place?

It depends on the site, the hours and how many officers are needed. Planned cover is straightforward to arrange; genuinely urgent cover depends on availability on the night. Call 07943 885059 and we will tell you honestly what is possible rather than promising something we cannot staff.

Do you provide fire wardens as well as security guards?

Yes. Fire warden and fire marshal cover is available on its own or alongside security officers — commonly for events, construction projects, hot works and premises operating a waking watch. Wardens work to your fire risk assessment and evacuation procedure.

Which areas do you cover?

Liverpool, Manchester and the North West as standard — Warrington, St Helens, Wigan, Chester, Bolton, Preston and surrounding towns. Multi-site and longer contracts are taken on across the UK. Get in touch with your site locations and we will confirm coverage.
